Hannah Ignas is a young professional who followed her dreams of becoming an Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader during her senior year of high school. As a Colts Cheerleader she has had the opportunity to take part in the Chuck Strong Gala, supporting Chuck Pagano and his efforts to bring awareness to cancer. From her volunteer work in the community she has also been able to visit Riley Children’s Hospital, serve at local soup kitchens, and partake in Habitat for Humanity builds. In 2015 she went skydiving with a bear, she then delivered “The Worlds Bravest Bear” to a child at Riley Children’s Hospital.
Cancer has been a part of Hannah’s life since the 4th grade when her grandmother passed away. In 2009 her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and then again in 2012 with colon cancer. Having been cancer free for 6 years Hannah and her mom, Andra, now have the largest fundraising team for Relay for Life with all proceeds going to further cancer research. Finally, as a junior at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Hannah participates in her favorite event, Jagathon, the IUPUI Dance Marathon for Riley.
She is forever grateful to partake in this event as it combines her passion for dance with her love of volunteering and fundraising for a great cause. She would like to thank her family and friends for their endless support and love during this journey.
