As part of the morning team, you can see Alexa Green on FOX59/CBS4 even before the sun rises! Since coming to Indy last year, this AP-award winning reporter covers breaking news and stories that matter most to those in the community. She is thoroughly in love with the city and feels lucky to now call the Hoosier state home.
Underneath it all, Alexa is a Jersey girl at heart, having grown up close the Jersey Shore. Before moving to Indianapolis, she was reporting in some of the snowiest cities in Upstate New York. She is a proud graduate of the Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communication. During those years, she “somewhat” got used to the brutal winters and still to this day bleeds ‘Cuse orange.
Since moving to Indy, Alexa has had the privilege of being a “Big Sister” through the Big Brother Big Sister program of Central Indiana. It has brought her some of the most rewarding and emotionally satisfying experiences of her life. While she has found many ways to support various causes, focusing on the children cared for by Riley Hospital for Children is one that has touched her heart and motivated her to work hard in this phenomenal event.
In her spare time, you can often find Alexa running by the canal or Monon Trail, riding horses, reading or trying out one of the many new restaurants in town.
