Charles Torwudzo Jr.

US National Team Coordinator at USA Football. Founder of BoilermakerWish Foundation & Former Professional Athlete/Wide Receiver at Purdue University.

Born in Wisconsin and raised in Indiana, 26-year-old Charles Jr is the definition of a midwestern kid with a passion for sports and more specifically football. Growing up in the game of football, Charles attended Brownsburg High School and was awarded a full scholarship to play at Purdue University for the Boilermakers. During his time at Purdue, Charles collected 2 bowl rings but says his greatest accomplishment was Co-founding the BoilermakerWish foundation that is still alive and active in West Lafayette today.

Upon graduation of Purdue University in 2015, Charles had a short stent in the CFL, signing with the Ottawa Red blacks before signing to play Arena football for the Iowa Barnstormers in the Arena Football League. Granting Charles’s playing days are behind him, he is still as competitive as ever and you can likely find him at the gym, on a football field or basketball court around the city in his leisure time.

Charles currently lives in Indianapolis and works at USA Football as the coordinator for the US National Team. In his current role, you may catch him at the airport racking up flyer miles, or in another country coordinating or assisting in a USA Football event. Though being on the other side of football is different for this former athlete, he enjoys watching and assisting the US National Team athletes excel on and off the field as they grow into valued members in their respective communities.

Although Charles and Girlfriend Taylor live in Indianapolis, his family is dispersed throughout the country. Mother and Father, Sheila and Charles Sr. live in Oklahoma. His sister Jennifer and Husband Matt live in Chicago, and his oldest sister Elizabeth and husband Logan also live in Oklahoma and care for his niece & nephew Lilly and Luther. This typically makes for very fun holiday seasons.

“I love the city of Indianapolis, I love what Riley does and what they stand for, and I’m very much looking forward to learning some new steps to benefit such a great cause!”
