Karen E. Laine
I am the old half of Two Chicks and a Hammer, Inc. We have been rehabbing houses on the near south east side of Indianapolis for ten years and are featured on an HGTV show, “Good Bones”. I used to be on the precision dance team in high school, which was 40 years ago, so I might be a little rusty for this dance competition, but the cause really spoke to me. For many years I prosecuted child physical and sexual assault cases. Riley was frequently the resource that cared for my victims. Riley’s dedication, compassion, skill and willingness to go the extra mile for their patients was always a source of inspiration for me.
I am blissfully married to the best man in the world, have four wonderful adult children whose company I enjoy immensely and an ancient toy poodle. When I’m not working, I’m either gardening, crafting, sewing, sailing, camping, or doing some other fun thing with my husband, or one of my children or grandchildren. If you get up early, you may see me jogging along the cultural trail or the canal, trying to stay in shape. I also do yoga, but not in public. No one wants to see that.
