Megan Ali

Certified Child Life Specialist at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health

Megan Ali fell in love with dance at the age of 3. She studied ballet, jazz, and modern at Imperial Dance Studio in northwestern Indiana until the age of 18. Although it has been many years since Megan has danced, her passion for the art remains strong.

Megan was born and raised in Crown Point, Indiana. She graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Family and Child Studies. During one summer in college, Megan worked at Camp Riley at Bradford Woods where she learned how Riley kids are both special and resilient. After completing her child life internship at Riley, she landed her dream job there as a child life specialist.

Megan is a Certified Child Life Specialist at Riley Hospital for Children. She has had the privilege of serving patients and their families for 14 years. Megan works in the Riley Outpatient Center where she helps patients and families cope with the challenges of hospitalization. Through developmentally appropriate preparation, play, and education, Megan helps patients understand the hospital to reduce stress and anxiety. She partners with families to promote positive coping and empowerment during procedures.

Megan believes dance is a perfect vehicle for self-expression and a tool to promote healing and wellness. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to combine her two passions, Child Life and dance, to benefit the patients at Riley Hospital for Children.

Megan and her loving husband Omar adore their two-year-old son Emery and infant daughter Cora. They reside in Irvington, a historic east side neighborhood of Indianapolis known for its strong sense of community. They enjoy family activities such as visiting the Indianapolis Zoo and Children’s Museum.
