Dr. Tara Holloran
Dr. Tara Holloran is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, working at Riley Hospital for Children. She is an expert in child abuse pediatrics, evaluating children when there are concerns for physical or sexual abuse. She is the Medical Director for the Pediatric Center of Hope, where approximately 500 victims of child sexual abuse are cared for annually. This role gives her up-front knowledge of the critical role that Child Life specialists play, helping children through some of the most stressful situations we wish they never had to experience. For this reason, she was thrilled and honored to participate in this year’s event, giving her a chance to give back to this important department! Aside from her clinical duties, Dr. Holloran also leads educational efforts to teach medical students and resident physicians about child abuse detection and evaluation. Outside of work, she runs a not-for-profit volunteer group that saves the lives of injured and sick dogs and cats from local shelters. Through all her various activities, she is endlessly grateful for the support of her husband (Ed) and boys (Edward 12y and Colton 11y), who are her biggest cheerleaders.
