Dr. David Moore

I grew up in a small Indiana town. Mom and Dad were elementary school teachers and instilled in me principles of hard work, sacrifice, service. I graduated from Wabash College and Indiana University School of Medicine. My wife (Mary Kristine Beckwith, MD) is from a small Iowa town. We met during and married at the end of our IU OB/GYN residency. We lived in Durham, NC for 7 years where I completed my gynecologic oncology fellowship and served on the UNC faculty. After returning to Indianapolis I was at IU then Franciscan Health for most of my professional career, but also cared for gynecologic oncology patients at Community and St. Vincent Hospitals. I spent the last two years of practice with a teaching position at Eskenazi Health and then retired. I have always loved sports and now have the time to play in a lot of golf tournaments (won the Indiana Super Senior Amateur Championship in 2023). I also love to read. I am an Elder at Second Presbyterian Church and serve on several boards (Fairbanks Hospital; Community Health Network Foundation; Indiana State Senior Golf Association). My wife Kris has danced since she was four years old and has now “convinced” me to take up ballroom dance. She’s even gotten my son and daughter-in-law interested in lessons. I tell my buddies it is cross training. I have long admired the staff and medical services at Riley Hospital for Children. It is a wonderful and treasured Indiana institution. Although there is a competition aspect to Reason to Dance, Reason for Hope, there are only winners: the staff and patients at Riley. I am very grateful that you have given me the privilege to contribute. Now, if I can only remember the choreography…
