Gavin Johnston

Gavin Johnston started dancing in 2015 at Purdue University to be active outside his studies. After jumping into competing and enjoying the thrill of being on a dance floor for a few years, he travelled to Germany to extend his studies and became acquainted with the dancing culture there. This fueled his drive to keep dancing in his life and to share dance with others in some way. After returning to the United States, he saw an advertisement for the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Carmel and saw that as a calling. Joining in 2020 just before the Covid Pandemic, he continued competing in the professional divisions and realized that dance had changed him and thus he wanted to help others change and improve their lives through dance. Today he focuses on how and why dance is important for students and how he can help them realize their true potential in, and through, dancing.
