Mike DeSante

Mike DeSante began his dance career at the age of 18 years old. Like many men he was brought into the studio by another woman. She was one of his best friends and had already been through the instructor training program and Arthur Murray Dance Studio. At the time Mike was not sure of where he was going for a career so willingly tried the training program. After 2 weeks in he was so impressed with how the students and staff of the studio treated him and welcomed him in that he decided to give dance instruction a try as a potential career path. Previously he had never been trained, in any format, to dance.

After a few years in Mike decided to try professional dance competition. While attending a local dance competition he met his first dance partner Gina. They trained and competed for 6 months before deciding to move on. This time was very valuable to Mike because it showed him how competing could be a new avenue in his dance career. Mike had been dating his now wife Suzi at the time. She too was a dance instructor at Arthur Murray on the South side of Indianapolis. They decided to compete together.

Mike and Suzi spent many years teaching and competing in many competitions throughout the U.S.. In 2007 Mike married Suzi and a year later opened their very own Arthur Murray Dance Studio.

In 2015 Mike & Suzi decided to retire from competitive dancing. They had placed in the finals at many competitions in both American Smooth and American Rhythm. Recently Mike, with his wife Suzi, moved their Arthur Murray studio to Carmel where he continues to spread his love of Ballroom dancing with his Staff and Students.
