Riley Children’s Foundation has led the way to secure the health and well-being of children throughout Indiana’s 92 counties for more than 90 years by supporting Riley Hospital for Children. Nationally ranked in 10 out of 10 pediatric specialties by US News & World report, Riley Hospital is Indiana’s only comprehensive children’s hospital. Along with its regional clinics, Riley has more than 300,000 patient visits each year.

Riley Hospital’s strong affiliation with the Indiana University School of Medicine, its partnership with the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research and superior family-centered patient care make it one of the leading pediatric research hospitals in the nation.

All proceeds go to Riley Hospital for Children located in Indianapolis.

  • Child Life

    Child Life specialists are child development experts who work to ensure that life remains as normal as possible for children in health care settings and other challenging environments. They promote effective coping through play, self-expression activities, and age-appropriate medical preparation and education. As advocates of family-centered care, child life specialists work in partnership with doctors, nurses, social workers, and others to meet the unique emotional, developmental, and cultural needs of each child and family. The Child Life Program at Riley Hospital for Children seeks to minimize the stress and anxiety children often experience by using therapeutic activities that address patients’ and families’ social, emotional, and educational needs during hospitalization. Certified Child Life Specialists at Riley provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions including therapeutic play, preparation and education that reduce fear, anxiety, and pain for children and youth.

    Outstanding pediatric research enables Riley Hospital to provide kids with the highest level of patient care. Riley is doubling our commitment to recruit the best investigators and speed innovative life-saving treatments for sick children. Pediatric physician-scientists at Riley Hospital and the Wells Center for Pediatric Research are discovering new ways to attack devastating childhood diseases. They are exploring genetic causes of childhood illnesses like heart defects and cancer, testing drugs that can stop the progression of diabetes, and using DNA information to advance precision medicine- tailoring treatments to each child. Donor-funded bridge grants to Riley researchers have leveraged a 10-fold return on investment totaling more than $16 million.
