Cathie Mitchell

I am Cathie Mitchell. I am a mother of two, a daughter and a son, and the grandmother of twin granddaughters who are now eight years old.

I am originally from Waukegan, IL, a far north suburb of Chicago. I have an associate’s degree in data processing from the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL, and a bachelor’s degree in general studies from IU Indy. I moved to Indianapolis in 1996 while working for Grainger. After my position was eliminated at Grainger, I became a Montessori teacher for 10 years. I love making a difference in the life of a child. After that, I returned to the business world, and I have worked at IU Health for the past 11 years in several different supply chain roles. I am currently an inventory control analyst for IU Health Supply Chain Operations.

I love music and dancing. I have been dancing for 33 years, which started in Illinois when I took country line dance lessons at my church. After moving to Indiana, I found a place to line dance, which allowed me to meet so many wonderful people who got me interested in other types of dances. I now have experience in a variety of social dance styles and continue to learn new ones. Dancing is one of my passions. I have started taking my granddaughters with me to dances, and they are developing a love for dance alongside me.

Because of my love for children and dance, Reason to Dance, Reason for Hope is a perfect fit for me to make a difference. I ask that you show your support so, together, we can make a difference in the lives of children at Riley.
